Microsoft Power Platform and RPA
Previously known as Microsoft Flow, Microsoft Power Platform includes Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Power BI, and Power Apps, all powerful tools to develop and implement different types of robotic process automation (RPA). These incredible tools automate specific tasks now deemed unproductive and menial for manual operation, allowing you more time and energy to focus on the work that matters. Augmented Instinct Technologies can assess how to implement RPA into your business, saving you time while increasing productivity.
Microsoft Power Platform is a collection of Microsoft products used to develop and build complex business solutions, analyse and visualise data, automate business processes, and create virtual agents for communication. All these products provide a platform on which applications can be built without the use of code. These products are in the form of simple graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that can be used by any business user or developer, thereby reducing the need for IT in the organisation.
There are four products within the Microsoft Power Platform.
Power BI
Microsoft Power BI is a self-service business analytics tool. It has several offerings, ranging from the desktop version to the cloud-hosted Power BI Service. This element of Microsoft Power Platform is commonly used to connect to a wide range of data by creating interactive reports, dashboards, or stories that are accompanied by compelling visualisations.
Power Apps
Power Apps is more of a platform-as-a-service offering from the Microsoft Power Platform. Power Apps is an easy-to-use platform that allows users to create a user interface for a mobile application using a drag-and-drop feature. Textboxes, choice fields, and other controls can be added to the user interface by the user. In addition, there is a feature in Power Apps that allows users to connect to various data sources, and once developed, users simply need to publish the app for use within the organisation.
Power Automate
Power Automate, formerly known as Microsoft Flow, is a component of the Microsoft Power Platform that enables business users to automate workflows within organisations without writing any code. Modern businesses are constantly preparing for a faster and more automated environment to handle most previously handled manual tasks.
Power Virtual Agents
This is a new feature of the Microsoft Power Platform. Microsoft’s bot building services for business users are known as Virtual Agents. Users can use this to create a virtual chat agent from scratch without writing a single line of code. All integration and logic can be implemented in the Power Virtual Agents portal’s graphical user interface. Power Virtual Agents can handle the entire chatbot development life cycle, from dialogue creation to virtual agent deployment to channels like Slack, Skype, Teams, etc. This service is also integrated with other Microsoft Power Platform tools like Power Automate. Based on the users’ responses, the virtual agents can trigger any workflow from Power Automate and complete the task as intended.
